Support us in creating the willingness to preserve Our history and Culture of the Belizean Creole though Its rich Music, Singing and Dancing. The Creole ethnic group which is the largest ethnic group of Belize City, is gradually losing its cultural traditions as the Creole people migrate to other areas of the country and abroad. One way to maintain one of Belize City’s richest and vibrant Christmas traditions is to continue to have a signature event for the Creole people such as the “Belize Creole Brukdown Festival”
This year there will be 2 shows the first will be hosted at House of Culture on the 18th of December and the other at the Belama Love Park on the 19th of December. Join the Brukdong Movement
December has always been a special time for the Creole people: “It has always been a time to herald in the traditional Christmas Season from the time when Creole Brukdong flourished amongst the mahogany, logwood, and chiclero campers. “Bruk Camp” and “Gatto party Christmas Brams” [are celebrated] in the interior, along river banks, and seaside population centers, [including] banks and villages into the town … with revelry [for] homecoming reunification with their families”.
